They’ve been one of our longest-standing partners, so we were thrilled to have BT as the headline sponsor of the fantastic BT Sport Relief Million Pound Bike Ride this year.
BT also very generously donated 1p for every phone call made by a BT or Plusnet landline and calls customer, and 25p for every call to BT’s Directory Enquiry Service 118500 on Friday 26th March.
As if that wasn’t enough, BT also provided the telephony, call centres, network management and thousands of volunteer hours to enable us to take millions of pounds in donations on Sport Relief. This meant that BT handled a simply staggering 386,978 calls to the donation line during the live TV show, peaking at a mind-blowing 210 calls per second at 9.26pm!
And then there was the fantastic BT staff, who went all-out with their fundraising, doing loads of activities across the business.
The brilliant news is that BT staff and customers together raised a brilliant £300,106.72!
