The Brighton & Hove Mile

Come on Brighton & Hove! We’re looking forward to welcoming you to an amazing day out by the sea for the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile. We’re lining up a huge range of activities including tennis, cricket, fencing and skateboarding, to keep you and your cheerleaders (family and friends) busy – there’ll also be basketball demonstrations and other displays from the local clubs we’ve invited along. But if you’re in need of a more relaxing time after you’ve completed your Mile, you can always kick back and enjoy the great atmosphere provided by the local entertainers and the crowds of well-wishers. Make sure you look out for any familiar faces taking part in the Mile with you, and smile for the cameras – the BBC will be joining us too so get your fancy dress gear ready and don’t miss your chance to stand out from the crowd!

Your start time and distance

You will be given a start time or, where possible, we'll give you a selection of start times to choose from.

In order to ensure that the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Miles are safe and fun it hasn't always been possible to find courses that are exactly 1, 3 or 6 miles long. At Brighton & Hove they are 1 mile, 2.98 miles and 5.96 miles long, depending on which distance you choose.

Entertainment info

Tons of sporty activities will keep you busy throughout the day, with the chance to try out some sports – traditional and the more unusual – for yourself. As is that wasn’t enough, the entertainments we’re arranging and the lively group warm up session before your Mile will make sure that you have a brilliant day to remember. See you at Madeira Drive! The range of entertainment provided may be subject to change.
