Characters from the popular BBC cartoon, The Likeaballs joined forces with hundreds of children across the country yesterday to attempt a new world record in support of Sport Relief – and they smashed it!
More than 1,200 children from 21 schools across England took part in the attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most people performing keepy uppies at any one time.
As 634 children were successful in doing the keepy uppies simultaneously for 10 seconds, they beat the previous world record which stood at 459 people.
The Likeaballs are a team of cool, ball shaped aliens, bringing their fast, furious and funny adventures to Earth. Their passion is football, their motto is teamwork and they sure showed that spirt when supporting the kids yesterday!
Jim Quick, creator of The Likeaballs, said, "We're over the moon with the efforts of everyone involved in the record attempt. Achieving a Guinness World Record is incredible, especially for a record of this scale and with so many children involved."
And the best news of all is that every pupil who took part in the incredible World Record attempt raised loads of money for Sport Relief!
