Matt Cardle– A Really Good Sport
Matt Cardle– A Really Good Sport
3rd Feb 2012
XFactor winner Matt Cardle is showing his support for Sport Relief 2012 by sporting the official campaign T-shirt with pride, available at sportsdirect.com stores and online.
And he’s got a good reason to wear it. Matt has seen for himself how the money raised really can make the world of difference to people’s lives, both here in the UK and overseas.
On a recent trip to the No Limits project in Southampton, Matt met people whose lives have been transformed thanks to money raised through Sport Relief.
It’s a project which provides counselling and advice to young people, and Matt met one young man there who used to live on the streets but thanks to support from the project, he’s now got a full-time job and a place to live.
Matt was also fortunate enough to travel to Tanzania, where tragically far too many babies are still dying before they reach their fifth birthday, often due to preventable diseases. There he met a community health worker whose job it is to keep mums and babies healthy against the odds.
Having witnessed first-hand the difference fundraising cash can make, Matt wants to show his full support for Sport Relief 2012. And he wants the nation to do their bit too by entering the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile today.
Matt says: “Anyone and everyone can do it – on a skateboard, on a wheelchair, walking it, crawling it, you can do it with your Nan, you can do it with your baby. It’s a great day out and a great atmosphere and it’s for a good cause.”
