Schools Gear Up To Go The Extra Mile
Schools Gear Up To Go The Extra Mile
1st Feb 2012
As the nation bends, stretches and contorts itself into shape for the Sport Relief Weekend in March, schools and early years groups are getting in on the action too.
Plans are well under way for teachers and pupils to get active on Friday 23rd March and help raise some serious cash to change lives in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.
Last time round, in 2010, the nation’s schools and early years groups collectively raised a staggering £4.3 million and this year the aim is to raise even more.
To help teachers get started, they can sign up for a free School Fundraising Resource Pack bursting with fundraising ideas, posters, balloons, stickers, as well as interactive learning resources to help pupils understand where the money goes and the difference they can make.
In fact, there are loads of ways for teachers to get involved in Sport Relief 2012, but the best way is to organise a Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile for everyone at school on Friday 23rd March.
Kids can run, skip, hop, dance or even hula hoop down to the finish line within the school grounds, and the free fundraising resource pack contains exclusive materials to help teachers and early years groups organise the whole thing.
