Rock royalty Thin Lizzy do their bit for Sport Relief 2012
World famous rock band Thin Lizzy took the Plymouth Pavilion by storm this week before heading to Cardiff’s St David’s Hall with their new, show-stopping, ‘The Boys are Back’ tour – and they did their bit for Sport Relief 2012 at the same time.
Scott Gorham, Brian Downey and Darren Wharton (all of whom played in Thin Lizzy with Phil Lynott), along with band-mates Damon Johnson on guitar, Bassist Marco Mendoza and The Almighty's Ricky Warwick on vocals donned their Sport Relief T-shirts to show their support for the campaign and to encourage everyone to enter the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile on Sunday 25th March.
Despite the hard rock legends’ busy schedule, the band couldn’t wait to get involved with this year’s Sport Relief campaign.
Ricky Warwick, lead singer of Thin Lizzy encouraged the public to get involved too, saying, “Why don’t you show your support for Sport Relief and enter the Mile on March 25th and help transform thousands of lives across the UK and in the world’s poorest countries. You can ‘do anything you want to’ – run, dance, walk or rock out along the route!”
To join the nation and be part of the biggest year in sport, simply enter the mile today.
