Gareth Thomas' Silver Skydivers

Welsh rugby legend Gareth ‘Alfie’ Thomas is taking on a huge challenge for Sport Relief. Gareth may be brave in every field of life - including the rugby one - but there is one thing that really terrifies him - heights. Gareth will skydive from 12,000 feet above the Welsh countryside, and he won’t be doing it alone. Joining him will be a team of people over 60, who have also never skydived before.

Gareth and his team

Dilys, one of Gareth’s new team mates, holds the Guinness World Record for the Oldest Female Skydiver. She will be sharing her tricks and training Gareth ahead of the challenge. Gareth and his team of over 60s have been tasked with raising as much money for Sport Relief as possible.

The challenge aims to raise awareness of the projects that Comic Relief supports in Wales, highlighting those affected by loneliness and mental health issues in the country.
