Awande playing with a ball

Meet Awande

Awande is a three-year-old girl who lives in a township outside Cape Town. Her small home is built of wood and zinc; there’s no room to play indoors and outside it’s simply too dangerous. Thanks to a project funded with money raised for Sport Relief, Awande now goes to a toy library near her home. Here she can play safely all day long.

Use our learning resources below to teach your little ones about life in Cape Town.
