Sport is more than a kickabout in the park. It creates communities, improves health and wellbeing, saves lives and brings about social change the world over. We champion Sport for Change by funding organisations in the UK and internationally that harness the power of sport for good.

Y How Sport Changes Lives

Alex from the WAVES project

Meet Alex

Alex struggles with her mental health and lives with schizophrenia. Severe bullying made her life even harder. Thanks to the WAVES project at YMCA East Surrey -  partly funded by Sport Relief and the #iwill fund - she’s learning to understand her issues, and has found new ways to express herself. She’s now feeling happier, in herself and at school.
